Apr 19 2021 News 3 things advertisers should know about digital political advertising during the 2020 election What’s new: A new report from Centro provides a glimpse into US election campaign spending on digital ads during the 2020 elections—here are three things advertisers should know: Political advertisers shifted a much greater share of their programmatic budgets to connected TV (CTV) in 2020 than in 2018. CTV’s share of programmatic advertising grew from 5% in 2018 to 19% in 2020, while mobile, desktop, and tablet all declined. Notably, a number of CTV companies made Centro’s list of top digital vendors that were not present in the 2018 list, including Roku, Tegna, NCC Media (now Ampersand), Samba TV, and Univision.
